John Fredericks Plastics, based in Huddersfield, has been in the UK window manufacturing industry for over 53 years.

“We began our partnership with Hurst in the mid-90s, we started out using their door panels, which were very successful,” said Mark Dicconson, Managing Director of John Fredericks Plastics.

Today, the company focuses on engineered uPVC doors and relies on Hurst for its high-quality flat infill panels and shiplap panels, available in various wood grain finishes.

Consistent quality and service

“Hurst Doors has been a fantastic supplier over the years,” Dicconson noted.

“Their pricing, delivery, and overall quality are really impressive. The quality element is massively important to us because our 160 customers throughout the UK demand high-quality products.”

John Fredericks Plastics also benefits from using Hurst Live, an exclusive 24/7 online portal that facilitates order placement and account management.

“Hurst Live has streamlined our operations, allowing us to access orders, track deliveries, and view order history at any time. This has significantly improved our efficiency and ensured timely deliveries.” Dicconson added.

Hurst Doors offers a wide range of uPVC door panel designs as well as flat panels, these come with an extensive choice of colour and glass options. A highlight is the exclusive Harmony Glass Collection, which is now more widely available in more pvc-u door styles and known for its contemporary etched effect designs that create a 3D effect.

“Our customers told us that they want something that sets them apart from the competition,” said Mark Atkinson, Sales Director at Hurst.

“With the Harmony Collection, we looked at what was on trend and created designs that would elevate the already contemporary look of our doors. The feedback has been excellent, and we know it is one reason why our customers keep returning.”

“PVC-U panel doors remain a key part of many of our customers’ product offering, and it’s important that we keep those lines refreshed and modern,” Atkinson added.

Looking ahead

“We’ve got a well-proven business model of supplying top quality installers throughout the UK with top quality innovative products. We will continue with this approach, ensuring that our supply chain, including partners like Hurst, remains consistent and of the highest quality,” Dicconson said.

“We’re seeing a little bit of a market downturn, but high-end products, such as PVC flushed and engineered doors, as well as coloured products and aluminium, are doing really well. We’ll continue with what we’ve done for the last 53 years.”

Enhanced customer experience

“Hurst Live, our exclusive 24/7 online portal, provides full visibility and access to orders including order history and delivery tracking, as well as a wealth of resources to help customers manage their account and market their business,” Atkinson said.

In summary, the partnership between John Fredericks Plastics and Hurst Doors exemplifies how two companies can collaborate to deliver exceptional products and services. With a shared commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction, they are well-positioned to continue their success in the years to come.
